Has anyone put an autopilot on a Hobie? I am interested in long distance solo sailing offshore and wondered if anyone has experience putting an autopilot on a Hobie. I have a Get-a-way. |

Your plan sounds like a Darwin Award waiting to happen. The boat is too small to sail distance offshore. |

Just to make it clear; All Hobies are too small for solo offshore sailing. |

Yes, it sure sounds like I'm going for the Darwin award! My kids would be proud  BUT, I am in the Gulf of Mexico with shallow muddy water and can beach the boat anytime. I wanted to run down the coast 100 miles or so with a steady 10kt breeze on the beam. I was just wondering if anyone had tried this before (and lived to tell about it).
