Guys: I got this part with I broke the old casting on my boom on my 86 Hobie 17. It will not fit the stock goose part on my mast. It is about 1/4 inch to big. Do you have the part that will fit or know the Hobie part number? http://www.mariner-sails.com/partdetail.asp?id=23403 Doug Snell |

Post subject: | Super Goose? |
That is the Super Goose, but it won't fit the boom pin on an 86 model. If that is the case, what you really need is the Gooseneck Update kit # 50406261 The kit includes a new gooseneck, vertex (that is what the super goose is), boom pin and boom casting assembly. If you have the old boom pin, that is about the diameter of your little finger and not flattened (to fit into the vertex), the kit should be installed to prevent damage to the forward crossbar or gooseneck parts. The system was changed way back in 86 or 87. |

Post subject: | Just need new gooseneck |
Matt: I already got the new Casting and pin, because the old casting broke twice and it is mounted to trimmed boom. Have the quick connect the connect vertex to gooseneck and the Trentec super gooseneck. Can I just order the new gooseneck by itself? Will the Trentec fit in it? If not I will just grind down the vertex to fit. Doug |

Post subject: | Thanks Matt |
Matt: Thanks again. The part you told me to get worked fine. I especially like the extra hole that mount with a pin thru it. Looks REAL strong I should not have any problems. Super Gooseneck fit right in. Getting ready for the Texas Catamaran Championships. Good Sailing, Doug |
