Post subject: | Wet Suit vs Dry Suit |
For sake of this post, lets assume money is no object. Ha! It seems that in most of the hobie catalogs and people I see on the beach, they are all wearing wet suits. Either this is because they are less expensive then dry suits. or they are better for sailing. The wet suit is tighter and clings to your body better then a dry suit, so perhaps manuevaribility is easier. However it seems a dry suit, if you can fork over the money, is the way to go. Has anyone had experience with both, and what they recommend? I sail in north jersey and around Sept 15 the atlantic is getting chilly! PS next year, once I get this wet suit/dry suit worked out, I am starting a annual "Friday after Thanksgiving Regatta." Whose interested? I sail a H20. CaptainNoah |

I can't offer the comparison with a wet suit because I've never used one, but a drysuit is great and keeps you warm in anything but ice! If you really work out a lot when sailing (by opposition to pleasure sailing with little effort), then make sure you get a breathable kind. They are much more comfortable as they don't keep your perspiration in. I have a Kokatat, and wouldn't part with it. |
