Looking for advice about the pros/cons of a sail bag versus a sail tube. I picked up a Wave this spring, got homemade trailer that I modified/widened to hold the Wave and we've had a great summer. I plan to eventually upgrade to a 16 or similar in a few years as my kids grow. Which is better a bag or tube for the sail(s)? Thanks - Brian |

Thanks for the advice. I got a tube today and will look into making a sail bag. |

Do you just roll them up wet and stuff them into the bag? Seems like it would mildew pretty bad. I guess when you get home you have to roll them out in your yard to air them out and let them dry. |

Sails should be dry before you roll them up. Best way is to leave them up for a bit after you're done sailing. Although there have been times (raining) when I've had to roll them wet. Then I unroll them in the (finished) basement to let them dry for a day or two. |

If your in salt water, you may want to rinse them and hang them to dry as often as possible as well. I hang mine via bungees off my car door opener rails. Makes for a handy way to spray them down too because my contractor was smart enough to recommend drain holes in the garage when I built. I'm not sure how much effect salt has on modern sail material and the threading but it tends to eat through everything around here. I rinse mine after every sail pretty religiously but I could be paranoid. |
