Brad, Video looks like it was a lot of fun. Any GoPro videos from your trip to Panama City Beach? |

Tim H16 wrote: Video looks like it was a lot of fun. Thanks Tim, it was pretty fun... still need to get more practice "flying". I think I finally figured out that managing body weight and simply leaning out settles out the hull rise. I'm still a little too quick to sheet out and depower, so I need to get more comfortable overall.Tim H16 wrote: Any GoPro videos from your trip to Panama City Beach? I haven't edited the PCB video yet... I was saving that and my Lake Arkabutla video to put in an overall 2014 sailing video. I think I have some good clips from those two trips and it will be cool to see other Hobies alongside me. You need to get a GoPro for next season!

I can't wait to see you guys next season. I too am still trying to get used to hull flying - gets easier after a 6 pack ![]() Hoping Hobie Mid-winters is a bit warmer next year, that's usually the first sail of the year for me. Are your main blocks the 6:1 or the standard 5:1? go ahead and post some short clips if ya got 'em! Tim |

It's a home built 6:1 with a 2 single blocks added to the stock rachet block for the lower assembly, and a hobie 18 triple block for the upper. All old Seaway parts. Built it pretty cheap, but she gets the job done. I like the compactness of the low-profile 6:1 design so much better. Here's a picture before I tied a better knot on the lower beckett. I've also added a small shackle to the lower block to improve rotation/tilt. ![]() |
