Post subject:  Type of water shoes for racing?
So we are using neoprene booties and we are tired of having to dump out water and having soggy feet at the end of the day. My dad bought a pair of slippery water boots that are used for jet ski racing and they are high top water shoes that look like a pair of Nike. They have drains and vent and come with a neoprene sock. I have been searching and found 2 type that seem very nice. They have a pretty good grip on the sole for trapping and they offer a bit more support that just a bar foot trapped out. What are you guys wearing out there?

Barefoot whenever possible. IMO, it's more comfortable than any shoe.

I have simple slip-ons from West Marine; blue with white soles. They work well but the ones you show look great also.

When I am trapped out with one foot on the hull, or trying to right the boat, the hull is VERY slippery on bare feet. I'm going to add some nonskid tape to the boat, but the shoes make everything nonskid.

I love these Columbia Power Drain shoes when it isn't cold enough to need neoprene. Water drains more or less instantly out of these shoes and they provide plenty of support when on the wire.

I like the looks of those first ones. I've never found any that I really like, and have been through many.

It says the neoprene socks are removable. I use SmithWick short golf socks when I don't use neoprene in Converse high tops with holes punched for drainage. I'm going to get a pair of those Slipperies.

I love my Vibram 5 finger shoes when I can't just go barefoot for some reason

Thanks for the input guys. My dad has the slippery's and they are like a pair of nikes with the removes me neoprene socks. I havnt seen the jetpilots. For long days on the boat and when it's cold I like to have my ankles covered that's why I like the higher tops.
