Okay, this doesn't show a lot of Cat sailing as the camera was on my boat (Weta), but does show an H17 on the beach and a little bit on the water. The hull was leaking and the deck so soft you could almost push it in by hand. Over the fall we filled the hull completely with lightweight urethane rigid foam in an attempt to salvage what were quickly approaching junk hulls. This past Sunday the owner got to try it out and found it sailed great, took on no water (can't take on water) and he said he could not discern any difference in how the boat felt, other than it seem to be easier to control (lack of many gallons of water sloshing around inside the hulls might be the reason for this!). I have to get in the water to launch the boat and had neoprene shorts on underneath, as well as some pretty expensive top gear on. |
