Found a vintage Hobie Cat 16 main and jib sail 17000 series numbers white gold and light blue in my rental house attic. I have no idea how it got there. The renters in the home i am sure are not a part of the Hobie way. I have not owned a 16 or even had one around until a few years ago when I bought my kid one. I sold my old 16 with the sails in 1990 and bought the Mighty Hobie Cat 21 SE . I have looked at the old pictures in case i am going crazy and no one i knew ever had this sail. I usually have a answer or theory for most things but I feel that I am entering The Twilight Zone on this one. Hi Gary, I know the feeling. In the cottage I bought, I found upstairs over the garage an Alpha Cat sail in great condition. It's still sitting up there. No one knows where they came from or why they were there. From what I understand they were all in California, and I am in Michigan. All of the neighbors had Hobie 16s, and don't remember the previous owner having any sail boats. It's a mystery. |
