Howdy cwags - good to see a fellow North Carolinian on here. I know that there's a sailing school in New Bern and also some lessons offered through the Maritime Museum in Beaufort. But that may end up being too costly or not really Cat focused... You may want to seek out folks by searching the Places to Sail forum and searching the keyword "NC -" Might find some posters in your area that way... |

I live in Swansboro and work in New Bern. I have a Hobie 16 that I keep at Camp Morehead. I would be willing to give you some lessons. Do you have a boat? What is your skill level? Sunday is my best day to go sailing. Are you flexible in your schedule? |

I had to fly a hull on the 21 over the back corner of a small cruising sailboat that got on the race course during a Prosail race there in 1989 (I think). I wish I had a picture of the expressions on their faces. Sorry, I'm a little too far away. |
