Hello, I purchased a Hobie 18 and the previous owner had installed the rudders upside down.. what I mean is the grooved part of the rudder is facing up, and when sailing is pointing away from the boat. I was wondering if this is worth fixing or if it doesn't really matter. Thanks! |

Grooved part of the rudder? Not really sure what you’re talking about. Is this a “classic” Hobie 18? Can you post a pic? sm |

So that little dip in the rudders is facing up instead of down. |

Unbolt the rudders, flip them the correct way around, and re-install - easy peasy. |

You’re saying they connected the rudder castings to the rudders with the bolt holes swapped? I don’t even see how that would work - doesn’t seem like the rudders would be able to lock up or down. Would love to see a picture, but definitely correct it so the rudders are installed properly. sm |

First time I've ever heard that one. |
