The rudders "should" be symmetric. That doesn't mean they are. The plastic rudders are notoriously asymmetric, unfair and too flexible. The plastic shrinks unevenly after they're ejected from the mold. You could try swapping them side-to-side; no harm in it and it might work. 2 mm is a bit wide for the trailing edge. See if you can get it down to 1 mm and don't make the trailing edge square to the center line of the rudder. By having it angled slightly to one side, the vortex sheet will preferentially shed to one side, reducing or eliminating the hum. The only sure way to get rid of the hum is to get stiffer rudders with good trailing edges - like EPO3s. That's a pricey solution, though. |
