I have a Hobie Toy box and I want to lock it somehow. Has anyone rigged a locking device, hasps, or anything to lock your Hobie toy box? I was thinking of cutting a slot about an inch from the edge of both the cover and the box (on top and bottom), then sliding a thin piece of steel all the way through the top and bottom, then securing with a padlock. Anyway, any other ideas or photos are appreciated. |

We used to have a kit for that. Check out a marine hardware store for stainless or chrome parts. They have lote of options in the marine industry. |

Thanks for the info. What did the "kit" consist of? |

Both my sailboxes are equiped with hasps on both ends. Fastened to the fiberglass box with pop-rivets and large washers for support. Remember that the boxes are only a deterent to keep the honest people out. Most of them can be pried open with a stick off the beach. Lock or no Lock. ![]() |
