I was having an awesome family sailing day in Santa Barbara today until we unexpectedly sailed very fast through some sort of oil spill. It covered the hulls, trampoline, lines and crew with a thick tar-like substance. Aside from removing the tar, it seems like it may have also stained the white plastic on the hulls. Any advice on how to deal with this mess would be very much appreciated. |

I know that petroleum jelly like "Vaseline" is good for removing tar from skin, maybe it would work with the hull? then wipe it clean with soap and water? |
