Was just browsing Murrays website and noticed they now offer an updated shroud anchor bolt. Looks like this is a Hobie part (No. 50-20100000-1). Any details? Stronger than the previous version? Any other advantages? https://www.murrays.com/product/shroud-anchor-pin-h16-17-18-updated/# sm |

I have the newer version on my boat and certainly look more substantial than the older style. I am still giving them frequent inspection and changing them out for new every three years |

Interesting, thanks. I know Hobie updated the bolts a few years ago, claiming that the new manufacturing process made them significantly stronger (rolled threads instead of machined). Wondering if they would make any similar claims about these new bolts. The failure point of the bolts tends to be on the shank at the transition between the threaded and un-threaded sections. Not sure how any improvements could be made there since they are limited by the thread size. Maybe changing to a stronger alloy stainless? sm |

There is a more recent version that is even stronger. Machined head, not hammered. Rolled threads and high strength stainless. ![]() 20100000 ANCHOR PIN |

About a year ago. Just prior to the 16 Worlds as I recall. |

When the shroud anchor bolt was upgraded was the shroud anchor bar also upgraded? Or is the anchor bar less likely to fail? |
