Hi, new to site. Can anybody tell me what kind of wire (cable) is used for the shrouds on a Wave (Club)? I was under the impression it is stainless but a magnet sticks to the unclad portion of my shrouds. Correct me if I'm wrong, I don't think a magnet sticks to anything stainless. I'm just trying to learn more about the Wave I recently bought. Thanks |

Shrouds should be 300-Series Stainless Steel (typically either 304 or 316). They would rust pretty quickly in a marine environment if a non-stainless steel were used. Google can provide more specific details of various types of stainless....https://www.meadmetals.com/blog/why-is-stainless-steel-not-magnetic sm |

Thank you for answering, that's what I thought they would be but couldn't understand why a magnet would stick to the actual cable. Does anybody know what diameter the cable is on a Wave shroud or forestay? |

Thank you for offering your knowledge on the subject. I actually came across that information about an hour ago. I'm just trying to learn all I can about my Wave. |
