Post subject: | Too Much Heat Gun! |
So I'm working on my "new" '92 H14 Turbo, with rock solid hulls, removing the racing stripes (which were a little crackled along the edges) -- like I don't have enough to do -- in preparation for a thorough cleaning & wax job. I'm using a heat gun and "GOOF-OFF" which are working fine, if slower than I'd like. Then, I get distracted admiring the shine on a part of the hull I already waxed, while pointing the heat gun at the stripes, and I hold it there too long. When I look down, the area of the hull that was getting hot (just below the forward pylon) is forming a raised welt about the size of my palm! ![]() ![]() |

Beer will do that. Sounds like you melted the foam under the glass. |

Just leave it alone. If it's where the hull stripes are, then it's not in a real high stress area. Pushing on it will just make it worse. |
