Hi all! I am moving from South Carolina to Burlington VT and want to bring my H16. We will likely be staying in an apartment with no parking. Anyone know the scene on Lake Champlain on the VT side? Any tips on where to keep/launch a boat - marinas, etc? Thanks in advance! |

I used to keep my beloved Harpoon 4.6 on a trailer at Shelburne Shipyard https://shmarinas.com/locations/safe-ha ... -shipyard/ and possibly another cheaper sailboat lot over winter. I think they let me keep my mast up. It is on a strategic peninsula that makes it pretty easy to launch and land in any wind direction without a motor, although I don't know if your width would cause a problem. If you are tempted into the widest part of the lake, beware of fierce squalls or turbulent winds suddenly popping out of the mountains to the east and west. It is more protected to the north with serpentine coast and islands, which may have more easygoing launch options. |
