The fourth annual Regata de Gatos is scheduled for June 16/17 in Port Burwell, Ontario (about halfway between Toronto and Detroit on the north coast of Lake Erie)

Cool venue (it's the undiscovered country):

Alright. Looks like I am in. What are the rules re: H16 and single handed?

Class rules for the 16 specify a 285 lb minimum crew weight and you can carry up to 50 lbs of dead weight (attached to the boat) to make minimum.

If you weigh a minimum of 235#, you can sail singlehanded.

I've seen people with their dogs on the boat to make minimum.

If you're in C-Fleet (novice), nobody is going to care too much if you're not at minimum, but it's more fun if you've got somebody with you.

Given this thread a bump!

I won't be making it with my boat but I do plan on spectating on Sunday.

Next year for sure! Be sure to send me next years flyer, early and I'll post it at my yacht club!

To all of you that didn't come - you missed it at Port Burwell this past weekend. We had 10 - 15 kts on yesterday, not a cloud in the sky and 2 ft waves on Lake Erie.

I made it down Sunday morning and was able to see them heading out. Looked like a blast.

I got a few photos (not the greatest) of them leaving the beach if you'd like to add it to your archive email me at [email protected] and I will send them to you. I am not sure how to post photos on here.
