Post subject:  looking for a place to launch

I live in Richmond Virginia and have just purchase 2 Hobie Bravos for my kids to sail but need a place that is safe enough for them to sail and easy access for me and the trailer. Does anybody have any suggestions? Looking for a beach area or intercoastal that can provide some protection for them while they are still learning to sail. Thanks for your suggestions

When I lived in Richmond, the locals sailed at Swift Creek Reservoir in Chesterfield County, or on the James River south of Hopewell.

I don't have a clue where you can put in these days. I haven't lived in Richmond since the early 80's. It shouldn't be too hard to find, though.

Most of the sailing I did was on Fishing Bay, near Deltaville. Again, I don't know where a public access would be - I was a member of Fishing Bay Yacht Club, so it wasn't a problem.
