I need ideas on affordable and durable boat covers. So far my options appear to be the Hobie supplied silver mesh which Mariner Sails will modify by sewing the bow covers closed for $275 total, or a canvas cover from Murray's for $600. I would prefer to keep the total cost under $400, and last at least 3-4 years. I've heard about the billboard canvas but have no idea how to procure.

Try Salty Dog as well! If you can afford it go trailerable with top gun material, it will last much longer.

Ok, heres a real cheap options if you do not need a super tight fitting cover.

Look in the yellow pages under Advertising - outdoor, find a major company like Lamar outdoors advertising or clear channel. Call them and find out what they sell their old signs for. I got 2 10'x40' heavy canvas tarps for $20.00

Do you simply want a cover for storage? If so get one of those 10' X 20' portable garages. We bought one a few years ago at at Price Club for around $150. I think we had to buy the sides and ends seperatly. Although the mast will stick out, that can be covered with some cheap tarps. One word of warning...When it snows, you have to go out and beat the accumilating snow off before it caves in. For $275 you could probably get a REAL NICE quansent hut type shelter that would have the snow slide off by itself!
