Post subject:  Source of old Hobie colors Dacron

I am fixing up an old set of Tequila Sunrise sails and while the panels are in good shape, needless to say the batten pockets need repairing. Does anyone have a source for small quantities of Dacron in the older Hobie colors?

As an alternative, does anyone have an unrepairable/destroyed Tequila Sunrise sail that you would be willing to let go cheap (or free for little more than shipping)? I figure I could harvest some Dacron that would likely match (due to fading) better than new Dacron. Send me an email aschaffter at suddenlink dot net

Thanks.

For new sailcloth, you can try Sailrite:

http://www.sailrite.com/Categories/Dacron (scroll down for colors)

The 4 oz cloth is lighter than the stock cloth, but it will work well for patches. You might even get them to send you "samples" big enough to make your patches. Otherwise, it's $14 a yard.
