Some of you may already be doing this, but I came up with this idea for a throw away semi- dry suit that all you have to do is hose it down with some Scotchguard, or 303 fabric guard, tape over the zipper and call it done. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... mot_widget These are full suits with hood and booties attached. They should provide ample protection from wind and water as long as the seams don't blow out...but what do you want for less than $5??? Keep in mind the sizing runs small on these, where a XXL size has a 32" inseam. I'd also suggest wearing water shoes or other booties over the integrated booties on the suit as they're easly punctured. The elastic around the wrist isn't the best either, but a couple of rubber bands worn on the outside will improve things. Good luck. |

I'll second that these are an excellent poor man's spray suit. I found the elastic works good as well. If you are submerged it can be a bit difficult to let water out after getting back on board with the rubber bands. We used ones without booties, hoodies or zippers. |

Great idea & it works well. I put mine on after I launch. I have a small towel that I dry my legs with before putting on the suit. It repels water & works well to keep me & my crew dry & comfortable. I remove the suit before coming back in. If I wear sweat pants, I roll them up before I go in the water. These flimsy HasMat suits & a small towel work well for winter sailing. Rich |
