I used a heat gun on some stickers, but it left all the sticky residue unde the plastic. I'd like to lose the stripes that are in bad shape. what's your favorite method? |

My favorite is Acetone. Apply with saturated rag and let soak in for approximately 30 seconds. Use another rag, press lightly and rub in circular motion, old glue balls up and sticks to rag. disclaimer: Soak time and pressure needed will varie due to atmospheric conditions (IOW, you'll have it down to a fine art by the time you get to the second hull) |

Leaving something to be desired is the most polite thing I have ever heard for such a miserable and otherwise useless "feature". That said, thanks for replying to the same question again. |

That said, thanks for replying to the same question again. Since phpBB is a free program and there is no cost to participate in the Hobie forums, me thinks you get what you pay for sometimes. 
phpBB is actually one of the better forum programs. Unfortunately, it changes frequently because its popularity makes it a frequent target of newbie hackers looking to "mark" the world. And in my search for a better mousetrap, I've not found a single forum program that has a truly useful search feature. Cheers, Brian C |

Strangely enough, I've never had any real problems with the search feature. If you use your quotes and set up your searches properly, you usually come back with something useful (though you may have to sift through some fo the results). I recently upgraded my forums to phpbb 3.0.x, which are pretty nice on the admin side. There are significantly more tools at your disposal, and there is a search index that is created. I'm not sure if that gets created in phpbb 2.0.x or not, but it's not an option in the admin cp. Still, as far as forum search features go, at least it doesn't rely on google to do the indexing (ack!). |
