Hi, I need help deciding which 16 to buy because I can't exactly understand the differences between the easy, club and race.
Apart the known rig differences, I mean type of sails and mesh or normal tramp, I can't understand if there's a difference in the hulls material or anything like that.
I'd appreciate a help, thanks!

Ok looks like mine was a wierd question, I'll post it in a different way...

is there any difference in the hull material and construction between easy, club and race 16?
On the official italian website I can't find any precise description.

I'm going to buy a used 16 so I want to be sure about what I have to look for regarding hulls fatigue.

Thanks

From what I understand, the Hobie 16 is a “one design” boat therefore the hulls, shape, material, should be the same throughout the different models that you have listed, and throughout the many years it has been in production. The only differences would be in the rigging. Someone else may know more about this than I do, but here in the states, as far as I know, a Hobie 16 is a Hobie 16 is a Hobie 16, lol.

Hi Marty, thanks for your reply.

The "problem" arises form the fact that on the italian distributor website I read these specs of the hulls

16 Easy
reinforced polyester
Lexan rudders

16 Club
asymmetric white hulls with decals
reinforced pylons and hulls to withstand sail school usage :?
Lexan rudders

16 Race
asymmetric white hulls with decals
Race rudders

I'll add that all of them are grouped under fiberglass boats.... is it confusing only for me??

Tried to contact them but still no answer after weeks!
