I have a 96' hobie 16. It has the the 2 pc stainless brackets on the stern to attach the rudder to. I am doing a refurb on my boat this fall and was hoping to replace these brackets with the newer 1 pc Gudgeon's. Are the bolting hole patterns the same on the 1pc ones as the 2 pc brackets? ie, I dont need to redrill any new holes in the stern of the boat?? If so, is the the whole stern reinforced so I can just drill and set new fastneners with the new Gudgeons??

thanks.

Search the H16 section for "cast gudgeon" and you will get lots of good info. I did this within the last few days. From memory, four of the holes line up and the other two are optional, but read for yourself.
