Am sure this is a common question. What do the 5 digit numbers mean on the mainsail. Mine is 46974. Thanks everyone.

What is the best type of adhesive for sail numbers that are peeling off a little at the edges?

Also, if you are planning on replacing some numbers, what is the best product for removing the old adhesive on the sail?

Go here and search for "buckets of acetone": https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/beachcats/info

(Sorry....could not resist!)

Contact cement could re-glue the numbers.

I'm told lighter fluid is pretty good, but with really old numbers... likely more hard like varnish than glue now.
