Akira no Mundial

Since childhood, Cesar, known by his friends as Akira, has been passionate about fishing. Born and raised in the city of Salvador in the state of Bahia, Akira could not wait for vacations at his family farm in the State of Sao Paulo, roughly 1,350 miles to the south. Beyond fishing with his grandparents, Akira enjoyed feeding the carp in the lakes. At 32, Akira’s passion for fishing grows nearly every day, especially with the new experiences and friends of the Hobie Family.

During his childhood, Akira discovered his love for the ocean. His admiration and appreciation of the ocean led him to fishing. Akira remembers using his childhood engineering skills to build his first reel from a plastic soda bottle. He used a small stone as weight to help cast his lures. Into his 20s, Akira honed his skills with more sophisticated equipment and fishing adventures. Four years ago, Akira started fishing with his Hobie kayak, one of the first imported into Brasil, a Revolution 11. But, soon after, Akira felt the drive for greater challenge and adventure.

My horizons expanded with the possibility of exploring the immense ocean.

Now, with an Adventure Island, Akira found new fishing challenges in deeper ocean water and many new friends on the water, who also share his passion for kayak fishing.

On his first day fishing with his Adventure Island, Akira sailed more than 8 miles off of the coast, seeking a subaquatic geological formation that creates ideal conditions for predator fish.

Adventure Island

Following Akira’s lead, the Island Club in Salvador, Bahia continues to grow. Today, the families of the Island fleet in Salvador frequently sail to neighboring beaches and islands in the Bay of All Saints, fishing and socializing, bringing great satisfaction to all.

Akira works to perfect his skills with artificial lures and techniques such as trawling, jumping jig and slow jigging.

Married with a nine year old son, Akira maintains his YouTube channel (Akira Filmes) where you can learn about Akira’s adventures and the evolution of his fishing skills in waters around the northeast of state of Bahia.
