Hobie® 2017 MultiWorlds and Europeans Schedule Released
The Hobie® 2017 MultiWorlds and Europeans in Noordwijk, Netherlands have released the schedule of racing. The Zeilvereniging Noordwijk (ZVN), the coastal sailing club of Noordwijk,(a.k.a. “the beach of Amsterdam”) celebrates its 60th anniversary as the oldest beach sailing club of the Netherlands.

North American Hobie 16 and 18 sailors will head to Puerto Penasco, Mexico, October 10-14. The North American Hobie 16 and 18 Championships will be held in this coastal town about 100 km from the border with the U.S. state of Arizona. It is located on the small strip of land that joins the Baja California Peninsula with the rest of Mexico. Sailing will be in warm coastal water of about 79 °F or 26 °C. Many of the sailors will be leaving their warm wet suits at home.
On 21st-23rd October 2016, for the first time the South African Hobie 16 Championships will be sailed on a lake, hosted by Lake Deneys Yacht club on the Vaal Dam. Deneysville is an interesting village with a variety of activates for the family. The Vaal Dam is situated along the banks of Deneysville on the border between Gauteng and Free state provinces. Vaal Dam is the second biggest inland dam/man-made lake in South Africa.
There is still opportunity to enter the America’s Cup Endeavour Junior Hobie Wave Regatta being held 20-26 June 2017, in Bermuda. The junior sailors will be part of the Americas Cup and train with some of the biggest names in sailing. All sailors need to be 15 years old or younger, in 2017, the year of the event and members of the Hobie Class Association. Each Hobie Wave sailing team shall consist of two males, or two females, or a mix of one male and one female. The goal is to have a 50/50 equal mix of males and females at the event. We ask everyone to find a junior racing team to be part of the action in Bermuda.

2016 Hobie® 16 & 18 North American Championships Start Soon
This month the North American Hobie 16 and 18 action moves to Puerto Penasco, Mexico. The water will be warm for those travelling form the north, so put away the big wet suits and enjoy.
Puerto Peñasco is often called “Rocky Point” in English, and has been nicknamed “Arizona’s beach” as it is the coast closest to the major cities of Phoenix, Tucson and Yuma, and many Arizonans spend weekends there.

South African Hobie® 16 Championships on a Lake for the First Time
This is the first time that The South African Hobie® 16 National championships will be hosted inland from the 21st-23rd October 2016.
This year’s event is proudly hosted by Lake Deneys Yacht club on the Vaal Dam. Don’t miss this historic event. Online entry is available.
2016-17 Australian Hobie® Championships
The 2016 Australian Championships at Hervey Bay, Queensland. This is the return of the multi series format. With the two series format we will see increased numbers in the Hobie 16 fleet. Also a number of Hobie 14, Wild Cat and Tiger sailors will try their skills on the Hobie 16.
