The largest North American Hobie 16 Championships this century. We have to go back to the 1990’s to find a bigger Hobie 16 North American Championships. Former champions to Hobie sailors attending their first Hobie Championships all enjoyed Pensacola. The weather was warm, the wind was light but even the jellyfish turned up on the course to enjoy the tight racing. Splitting the fleet into two groups to encourage all the sailors. Every way it was both successful on and off the water the 2015 Hobie 16 North American Championship was a great success. Pan AM Games Gold Medalist and the defending North American champions Jason Hess/Irene Abascal from Guatemala won convincingly.
Past North American champions Francisco Figueroa/Jolliam Berrios (PUR) finished in second, followed by 2015 Pan Am games silver medallists Mark Modderman/Grace Modderman (USA) in third.
In the silver fleet, Adam Atherton/Diane Bisesi (USA) finished first followed by Kat Porter/Caitlyn Froeb (USA) and Jim Sadjek/Tina Pastoor (USA).
Congratulations to all the sailors who competed. 2016 Hobie 16 North Americans will be in Mexico. Stay tuned for more information.

The IHCA has a new web site. It was decided to retire the old web site for a more modern design and featured web site. The new web site is more responsive to different sized screens and people viewing information on their phone and tablets. Also with a new web site comes a new newsletter and format.
The IHCA Rules Committee have approved the new rule book and the upgrades for the Hobie WildCat. The Rules Committee thank all those that commented as this is your class and without your comments the rules and upgrades would not be possible.
