We're planning on heading to Lake Carlyle in May to get some early season (early for us, we live 200 miles north) sailing in. How does the lake look this year? I've never been there, and don't know how early you can sail there. Does anyone have a recommendation as to a good place on the lake to stay...

Thanks for the info Scott. I'll check into Montrose beach. I'm planning on Wilmette beach next year unless Montrose looks better. Montrose Beach in the city has limited boat storage on a public beach. There is beach storage in Evanston, Wilmette and Glencoe. Might be moving to Chicago downtown area. Does anyone know of places to store your boat and/or launch sites? I'd prefer to keep it on the trailer with the mast stepped as it is a mighty 21se. Thanks.

wind adict: Lake Geneva, there are quite a few sailers there (I used to live in the area). I'm also a pilot and the lakeside airport right on the water is my all time favorite airport to fly to. It's also a great place to spend the day, lots of nice restaurants and bars. Lots of cool mansions to see...

I've driven up that way going to Benton Harbor to Wolf's Marine for parts. Never took a good look at the beach setup. Did you launch at Lake Street when you were in Gary? I have my boat stored about half a block from the launch ramp.
