We'll be moving to Hawaii (Oahu) next summer and wanted to know how active the Hobie AI / TI community is over there.

Are you just trying to make all of us in Oz envious?
My TI has been in the garage for the past 3 months. It is way too cold to go out.

You will not have that problem in Hawaii 8)

Errr, you are at the southern extreme Paul. It's plenty warm enough up this way.
24° C today. Forecast is for 27° tomorrow.

Paul, you must live south of Tasmania! I started using my new TI in the second week of June, and I lost count of my trips past 25. Heck, I was out 4 times last week alone! My "secret" is simple - I bought some Caddis lightweight breathable chest-high waders (with 6mm neoprene booties) So far, here in Forster, NSW, I haven't needed to wear anything more than polo shirt and shorts underneath, with a lightweight cycling breathable spray jacket under my PFD.

Most days the temperature has been 15-20 degrees celcius, with similar water temperatures. A couple of days I put on some MTB fingerless gloves, but found that they were no help one they got wet.

Where in Oz are you?

Gee, I wish us Hawaiians could sit around and debate how hot or cold it is. Sadly, we can not. :-(

Today: PERFECT
Yesterday: PERFECT
Tomorrow: PERFECT

We must have the most boring weather on the planet. ;-)

Been there, done that, (lived in Melbourne) but Hawaii sounds pretty good to me as a close second.

Melbourne? That's where Paul comes from I think. Known as "Bleak City" in the rest of the country. They do nice coffee though. 8)
