Is it possible to sail/paddle/peddle your way to the Channel Islands or Catalina Islands in CA from the mainland, in my Hobie Island?

Any details from anyone that's attempted this sail, please let me know. My husband and I really wanted to try this out, but I can't find anyone else that's gone there on a Hobie Island (only on larger sailboats).

Thank you!

Its about 20 miles one way...a nice trip with decent wind. People have done this, but, of course, you've got to watch the weather. I think most camp there overnight or longer.

It can be done, but with the most care for safety.

I’ve done Catalina four times. About 24 miles from Cabrillo Beach. If you stay at the isthmus, there is a grocery store and restaurant. I preferred Goat Harbor, no amenities and very quite. Be prepared to pedal the whole way. I’ve done it solo, but you should really go with a group. It is an amazing trip!
