Hi Guys. For a long time I was held back by an Admin guy [ not on this site]. He was against getting others to join me in camping trips. I was told it was too risky. COVID put a dint in things as well. People seemed to just do there own thing.

Anyway I'm back and looking forward to hearing from others about how, where and why they do things when CAMPING in their AIs and TIs. How do you do things more safely? How to keep less water getting in the boat? What spares do you take? What's the best front cover hack you've used? How do you move your boat. on the beach when camping? What food, shelter, how much water do you take, how do you load your boat?

Have you seen Mark's You tube vids? Called Sail 2 Spear

There's a million questions/answers. Everyone has their own way. I love hacks so how I do my trips has been evolving since my first in 2010. Oh please Emphasize simplicity.

So if interested send a FACE BOOK request to Hobie Island AI TI Camping Group.

Please leave other topics for better suited sites. [ I will NOT be strict on this]

Cheers Peter

Thanks for the camping post.

Per your many questions, recommend researching the WaterTribe site with deep content on many of your questions with a focus on camping (with many examples of using the Hobie AT/TI). Enjoy!

Your Questions:
how, where and why they do things when CAMPING in their AIs and TIs. How do you do things more safely? How to keep less water getting in the boat? What spares do you take? What's the best front cover hack you've used? How do you move your boat. on the beach when camping? What food, shelter, how much water do you take, how do you load your boat?

A few answers: Note: responses below are for serious / experienced adventure kayak campers .... not for novices..... but you can learn from them!

- If your are serious and what to accelerate your skills .... consider participating in one of the WaterTribe boot camps: https://www.watertribe.com/events/Flori ... fault.aspx

- Many WaterTribers make minor to moderate modifications to the stock Hobie TIs to improve seaworthiness and extend range and safety for offshore conditions. Too many to list fully here. You can pull out a few tips from content on this forum and from this video interview I did with Fusioneng (Bob Morton): https://youtu.be/NWnhcY-bCa0

Thanks for opening the Topic Peter. One interesting point that could be explored more would be the difference between setting up a base camp compared to a multi day camp/sail.
