I need help with rudder adjustment...
I lose control of rudder when turning to right.. because the steering cords are reversed in the hull the rudder actually reverses & goes the wrong direction..
I try to tighten the cords but I'm open ocean kayaking & the pressure on the rudder to pretty high.. It seems that the nylon cord simply has too much stretch...
I'm thinking to going with 1/16th steel cord instead...
any suggestions..

Assuming you have the up/down line system, 2009 or newer boat. Are you using the cleat to hold the rudder down? There is not that much pressure on the rudder.

The control lines are spectra which has a load capacity of hundreds of pounds. Wire is not needed or suggested.
