I love my 09 Hobie Outback. i would recommend it to anybody that asks. She is Weatherly, comfortable, and a stable platform for my 250 <> Lbs. My only complaint is those ^%&# seat plugs. I just do not think friction is going to work. I will try the new ones but I do not think they will do any good. If they do not work it is time to go drastic. Has anybody through bolted the seat and the plugs directly to the bottom of the peg hole? Do you think my heavy weight sliding back and forth might rip out the bottom og the peg hole? Is there any other mod other than using friction to hold them in place? The seat moving forward sure makes for some uncomfortable trolling.

The new expandable pegs will do the trick. If you wanted to... you can epoxy the pegs in place. This would require roughing up the holes and the pegs. Then you would have a boat as originally designed. The seats would be semi-permanent and require a screw driver to remove (unscrew from the plugs).
