Post subject:  Hobie Quest Owners(other kayakers too)

I've enjoyed the Hobie Quest for some time now. It's been out in nearly every kind of water situation and has been a very stable, fast and reliable boat.
Over the past few months, I've modified the original Quest a bit and put all of the mods on a website so other Quest owners can get some ideas and inspiration to perhaps customize their own boats.
If there are any complaints at all about the Quest, it's that the front hatch leaks under more extreme water conditions, like going out through the surf. There are a few mods that will stop all leaks, even under the most extreme rough water situations.
Lots of kayak fishermen here, there are suggestions on how to mount a fishfinder and build an inexpensive live bait tank.
Also, how to make a PVC scupper dolly.
You don't have to do exactly what I've done, but I hope it may give you some ideas.

Check it out at the Quest Mod Shop.

You have done us all a favour, especially with the very detailed photos you have put up.

I will adopt the hatch straps, I believe this is an excellent idea.

Look forward to seeing more mods & improvements as time goes on for the Quest.

Hey ron,
Great job, with applications for the new OB and Adventure, as well as for others that might have similar hatch leak problems. Also great pics and info on the other topics that might apply not only to Hobies, but even other brands. Thanks.
