I started a new thread of this specific topic to get Matt's and any any engineers attention.

When touring remote areas, or at sea when unusal cirumstances ( I'll post a story how a turtle holed my OC-1 sometime) occur a polyethlene yak may be holed or crack.

What to do in such an emergency?

"Bassmanpete" posted a story on KFS about holing his kayak on a rock. "Beagle" recommended Patch & Go a specific product for poly.

Possibly some of the graphics product from this company are used by Hobie.

But it's not discussed in the other KFS thread
that discusses the poly adhesive question.

I had previously stated that I had bought The Everfix Epoxy Stick for emergency repairs. Directions state it is NOT recommended for polyethylene. Evidently fibreglass/metal sticky stuff doesn't adhere very well to poly. Telephoning around one manufacture of polyethylene products said it might hold enough to work as a repair. Can a chemist comment?

I don't see a heat gun and poly stick being a solution at sea or remote areas. While possibly OK when beached on a remote trip even Stop & Go requires a butane torch or small spoon & flame.

See pics on:

However, Everfix Epoxy Stick mixed by your fingers cures underwater.

So Matt/Hobie what do you recommend in emergencies?
