Thought all the snowbounders would like a taste of what I have to sufer through when lauching, etc. What's your look like?

{ Note you'll need a full screen, but images all fit.}

From sea looking in. On the right that's the old Kona Surf that's been refurbished and is now operated by Shearaton . The range looks like an orange stick is ~1130 off the yak
.

Taken from the Keauhou Canoe Club grounds looking out on the right side of the bay. Lower right is where a small pocket beach serves as an easy launch. If you close you'll see the white ama on the green 3 slab fishing canoe that's still used. He has a motor on it and came put putting by me when I was 2-3 miles out. Think he runs out to the FAD.

Left side. You can see some OC-6's. Right next to the ramp is where the commercial operator stores his rental yaks. That ramp is very slippery, and I don't launch there. His stock is in the dark shade. I'll get a shot of his yaks later.

Launching.BTW surge in here can make it a bit difficult until you get out waist deep. Overall pretty easy and you just wade out a bit to lower rudder and insert Mirage Drive before hopping in. The frau is complaining she's "cold". Bostonians may want to switch with her. :D

Return at low tide. Across the bay note the small sea wall below the red roof. Another ramp there for power boats or yaks for that matter. But the beach is nice as you can leave the yak there and dash up to the canoe club (where I keep my BigA) to stow your cart.

Here's a shot of the yak operatorthat was buried in the shadow of the previous pic. Range you saw from far out on the right.
