I missed the reference to the floatation devices the first time around. The stuff looks like that black foam you sometimes see electronics packed with. What is it? I think it might be a good idea to retrofit my older boats. Keith |

Pool noodles work great too. I bought 12 each at the Dollar Tree store....2.5" OD X 4 foot long versions.....for $12.00 and installed 6 on the port and starboard side of my Outback.....they run from behind the forward hatch, aft alongside the seating area. I tied/lashed them together with 1/8" OD nylon line after sliding in place so they can't move around. This is an inexpensive investment just in case the hull becomes water logged. |

Fyr wrote: Great review. Do you have any idea how high the new Oasis is. I mean how much height i adds to the vehicle laying upside down on the roofrails ? Do the flotation pieces look easily removable? Hi there. The floatation consists of two blocks of foam wedged inside the hull. I suppose I could have wrangled each out in one piece, but I cut each in two pieces to make extraction simpler (they cut cleanly with a pocket knife). But, yes, quite easy to remove. I would say the "height" of the hull is right around 13 inches. (I hope it's acceptable to jump in like this.) |

Looks like the Oasis would be "compatible" with the garage and present vehicle Thanks. |
