Post subject:  Turbo fin suggestion

Matt, when the "Turbo" fins are available, I think you should offer the replacement mirage drive with them already on it. I know I want the bigger fins, and was thinking about getting a second drive, so I could switch back and forth without taking things apart. I'm also planning a long tour and might want a back-up drive in case I smashed one along the way. Anyone else considering this?

Gregw,
Yes, I would also be interested in purchasing an extra mirage drive with the turbo fins attached. It would provide an excellent backup and save us mirage owners (that want an extra drive) a little money.

Right, and deep or shallow water option.

First we will get the kits out there... after that we will consider the idea of doing drives with the Turbo Fins pre installed.

Post subject:  Mirgage Turbo kit

Matt, I'm hoping your prediction/guess of early April for shipping the turbo kits pans out.
I will be in a large kayak event (Poker Run) April 29 and I want to amaze the masses of other paddling kayakers with the speed and efficiency of the Adventure with turbo sails/fins.
I already have two Mirage drives since I have two kayaks, so I don't care if you decide to offer the drive pre-installed. I'll have one each, as is.

Isn't smaller fins better than larger fins for long distance tour. Most fast fish such as tuna have smaller tail fins. Most slower fish such as grouper have larger tail fins. Does this apply to Hobie Mirage Drive system?

Post subject:  Fin size?

I think it is down to the stroke speed. Smaller fins would have to require faster strokes. I would bet that fish with smaller fins, which are fast, are also sprinters. The longer fins seem better in long distance. Slower steady strokes.

When? I am still waiting for the first batch. That does not cover all of the current back orders though.

Matt,
You mention back orders. How do I back order a set of fins? I called Nomad and they aren't sure if they can.

Thanks
Steve

Post subject:  Back Order

A "back order" is an order in our system that can not be filled. They need to place the order with us... it goes on Back Order if we do not have the inventory and then it is shipped when the parts come in. Any new orders for fins will likely be another Month.
