Hi
I just purchased two new Outbacks and would like to store them in my garage with a cradle lift.
Is that OK to lift them off the trailer straight up or do I need to flip them over?
I was going to just use the straps provided but am wondering if I need to support them better.
Any thoughts on it would be appreciated.

Please see your Owner's manual for all the storage do's and don't. Straps at least 2" wide are recommended, and best resting on the topside rails.

Thanks I don't have an owners manual yet, I pick them up in January.
Sorry I didn't mention that.
Can I hang them from a garage lift but upside down?
Is there a manual on line?
Thanks so much for your input.

Same situation, but I car-top my 2019 Outback. I got a Harken Hoist after pricing out a DIY design. The Block & Tackle and engineering of the Harken sold me, as it was just about $40 more for the kit, rather than cobbling together the parts on my own. It's a fantastic product- highly recommend it. I did make a modification that might apply to your needs: I found the supplied straps to be hard to work with single-handed, as they flopped about, so I replaced them with 1" Rigid Metal Conduit (RMC), covered in foam pipe insulation (you could use a pool noodle too), and wrapped the whole thing in Gorilla Tape. It looks like a trapeeze. It works VERY well. I store the yak upside down, and it's tight to the garage ceiling. Hope this helps give insight.
