Welcome Desert Drew

Matt, two thumbs up. More Hobie stuff.

Is the Bravo now falling into the kayak line or is it considered the transition into the cat line? Matt which would be the most fun for one man the 16 or the Bravo?

Post subject:  Bravo or a H16?

The Bravo is still a Cat and would be considered an entry level sailboat. H16 or a Bravo? Depends on your skill level and the wind strength. The Bravo is a great all around single hander, but the 16... The KING of cats! Great single handed... If...you can handle it. It is a blast crewed by two.

WOW! Awesome job Hobie and Matt--just about all the stuff we have been talking/speculating about for the past 1-2 years is right there in the 2006-7 catalog. I like the pairing of certain models with shared features and/or design charactristics side by side on the same page (i.e., Sport and Outback). Should help those folks out there trying to make up their minds about which boat to get.

However, I find it interesting that there is no comparable boat to match up on the same page with the Adventure as there is with the Outback/Sport, and some of the others. The catalog put the Big A and Outfitter on the same page, but the Outfitter is basically a tandem Outback, and its hull design and other features bear little resemblance to the BigA. Seems to me to again point up the obvious lack in the Hobie line of the "Revolution" model that some of us have been talking about. This would be basically a Quest hull design and length (say around 13 ft) , but with the addition of the Mirage Drive (and maybe, just maybe, the great OB/Sport gunwale trays, albeit perhaps narrower, or built more into the sidewalls). THEN, Hobie would have a suitable match in the catalog with the BigA comparable to the current Outback/Sport, and other pairings. Of course that would mean that the 2008-9 catalog would have to include a page with THREE boats on it--the Sport, Outback and Outfitter in order to keep the taxonomy straight! Seems like some folks are never satisfied...! :D Just my $.02 worth.
Keep up the good work Hobie!
Dick
