Tired of that water swishing into the cockpit area from your Mirage drive? Well, here's a quick fix in the form of a custom plug:

1. This is the area to be plugged.

2. Materials include a sharp knife (wife's bread knife works great), good packing tape and foam (semi dense, squishable with memory, not the flaky, chunky stuff).

3. The finished plug looks like this in the well. It should not touch the drive cable.

4. The plug shown permanently taped to the drive. Note, it is notched to fit around the frame spine.

If you have the old aluminum drive frame, you can make one for the forward half also. It's not feasable with the new drives because of the speedometer. You can also use this technique to streamline scuppers, etc. Simply seal with tape to hold the foam in place. 8)

ps. Almost forgot to give credit to Host My Pic for the picture hosting
