Hey guys I was just playing around with an idea, about getting a water pump I could connect to my car battery, so I could take water from a container and wash my kayak.

I bought a manual pump not long ago but it really falls short delivering the amount water needed to take the sand off the kayak. And since I'm getting a new truck I want to make sure I take as much salt water and sand off the kayak as I can, so I do the least amount of damage to the paint.

Have any of you tried this?

I was looking at these as options:

http://www.amazon.com/Jabsco-31600-0092 ... 12&sr=1-10

http://www.amazon.com/Charge-Portable-R ... 12&sr=1-14

http://www.amazon.com/attwood-6126-7-At ... 28&sr=1-33

http://www.amazon.com/Sierra-Tools-JB56 ... roduct_top

What do you guys think?
Thanks
Dan

Or, check Ace Hardware for a Wayne portable drill-powered pump... Wayne® Drill Powered Fluid Transfer Kit (DPFTK1) about $17 ...

Going to give this pump a try, hopefully 1.1GPM at 35 PSI will be enough.

It's an RV water pump. I'll probably adapt it to my car lighter, or maybe just hook it to my fish finder battery

Wish me luck

Good Luck Dan

(but the stylish & functional ferrous oxide finish of your current truck is less costly and less risky !)

I bought a small 500GPH submersible bilge pump from Bass Pro shops that I use to wash my Pro Angler down at the end of the day and I use my 12V 7Ah fish finder battery to power it.
http://www.basspro.com/Rule-NonAutomatic-Bilge-Pumps/product/8991/66179

The pump doesn't do the stated 500GPH it claims which is probably due to my small battery but it does work well enough so that I can get plenty of pressure to rinse off sand, mud and fish slime with the included 3/4" hose and also works for filling/draining bait tanks, and live wells also.

How big is that pump? Diameter I mean.

A friend is letting me borrow one of his marine pumps, going to test it at home during the weekend, see if that works.

I just bought this one:

http://www.amazon.com/Shurflo-SHURflo%C ... 12&sr=1-25

And tested it, worked perfect, lots of water pressure. Just have to be smart about how much water I use, it can really move 3.5 gallons in a minute if you just go nuts .

Works great with my small fish finder battery. Also good with my car battery
