Thanks to a roid shot in the Ortho office and the exercises recommended by the Ortho PA, last week, I was able to resume my daily walks.

We live on a cul de sac with a little over 1 block of flat land before getting to our home and starting at our home, we have a 1/3 of a mile of a rather steep grade with an increase of 421 feet of altitude.

I'm basically back to doing a half mile of flat land walking and two trips up and down the hill with a two block cool down walk.

After about 3 days, the pain had left my right knee. I still do the range of motion exercise stuff and while sitting, I do foot lifts with both feet and pretend to Mirage pedal.

During the two + week of inacticivity, my left knee which had knee surgery two years ago started to act up. We know that inactivity even for an hour or more causes it to stiffen up and some pain to come back. It is doing better now that I'm back to my normal flat land and hill walks. Hopefully in a couple of weeks, I will be up to a minimum of two total flat land and hill walks.

If my recovery continues, I will postpone buying a knee exercise machine until our late fall, when our rainy season returns. I will be buying one similiar to RoadRunner's recommendation. The machine will be used on days, when we can't safely walk our street and hill. We have no sidewalks.

Another learning episode with the motto of "Use it or lose it!", driven home again
