I noticed that my the rudder on my Outback is not lined up correctly. Do I need to order a rudder mount or can I straighten out the one I have? I will try to add an attachment to this post later. http://www.flickr.com/photos/30665911@N02/7176867583/in/photostream |

Can you post a side shot. I have an outback with that rudder, it looks like either your pin is bent, or the tube that holds the rudder to the pin is. In either case, all you would need is the replacement part from a Hobie dealer. My boat had a bent tube/connector when I bought it. It was a very easy fix. |

I was able to apply some pressure to the setup and was able to straighten the setup some but it is still not lined up properly. When the rudder it down now it just barely missing the center point where it should touch the kayak. That does look like the tube is bent. I'll have mine off the trailer later today. I'll take a pic so you can compare. |

You can easily bend it back - the old style mount was a welded stainless tube with a threaded rudder pin passing through it - they can be bent, no problem. |
