I am considering getting one.
http://www.rammount.com/NewProducts/ram ... fault.aspx

I currently use a suction cup mount for my Lowarance 522C transducer and the long cable is zip-tied in a circle to keep it out of the way...sorta.

My question is how can I shorten my current cable (splice-able?) or are there shorter cabled transducers available for purchase?

Assuming you drilled a hole for the power cable, run the extra transducer cable into the hull through the same hole. You don't want to splice any transducer cabling.
