I know that we are supposed to store our kayaks end up, on side, or upside down. But to be honest im too lazy to constantly load and unload all my tons of gear. Wouldnt be a big deal if I used my kayak occasionally but i use mine 2-3 times a week year round. I made my trailer with the pvc bunkers under the kayak. I have been leaving the kayak fully loaded and i just back the traller into the garage. Its so easy and convenient. Do you guys think this is ok or will my hull suffer over time? The pvcs are bending nicely to shape of hull but will the sides pancake out over time? You can see what im talking about in my video of it. please give your opinion. Thanks from Kauai.

I looked at your video and noticed how your boat seems to be well cradled lengthwise on the PVC tubing. I really think you'll be OK. However, it would hurt to take a look every so often for any abnormalities in the hull shape and do something different if it seems to be warrented.

I am a new owner of 2 outbacks and am storing them just as you are on pvc pipe. They seem to be very well supported and I can't see where there would be a problem. I will be interested in reading others opinions. Great post.

I think as long as you don't try and take the easier route when it comes to proper maintenance you should be fine. A lot of people I know that don't want to take the time to unload and clean every time also tend to ignore preventative maintenance procedures and general cleaning and care, which leads to problems.
