Does anyone have the Island Hopper remote motor on their Hobie? I'm interested in it, and would like anyone that has it to give me their impressions. Thanks.

I've had a 2 hp 4 stroke on my TI for over 3 yrs now. I use it as an emergency backup motor when I go out in the ocean. It is always on the boat (just in case) and I have probably 3000 miles on my TI's with it on board but seldom need it, in 3 yrs I have ran thru 6 gallons of fuel. A word of waning, it is really more for fresh water, and in salt water pretty much everything is rusty now. 2 hp is not enough hp for a TI, so I'm a little under powered, but it worked great on our oasis and revolutions. I should have bought the Honda 2.3 hp. The island hopper has actually worked ok though, and I won't be buying the Honda until the island hopper dies

I have the 2HP 4 stroke. It has been used less than 30 minutes. Would sell for $300 flat. But you'd have to pick it up. Nothing at all wrong with it, we just couldn't make it work for the project we were working on. Where are you located?

I'm only interested in the electric remote system for the mirage drive. I live near Charlotte NC.
