I've heard of plenty of people breaking the pull handles on their up/down rudder cables when they let them slam in. As hard as I try not to do this, I occasionally slip and it slams home. So I thought I would do a preventive mod here and added some cushioning. I had some left over rubbery sheet from the inside of a pelican case I cut out to fit a battery. I used some hollow punches to make washers out of the material. I took handles off, slid 3 washers on the cable and put it all back together. Now I have a nice dampener in there to absorb any shock. Testing it several times, works very well.
